Finding herself in the grip of the collapsing world, Helga gazes into the void, listens for pauses between words, finds herself in an inter-emotional lacuna, tracing bizarre, sometimes disturbing and terrifying trajectories of being. She explores transformations of the perception of reality, focusing on the shifting of action and inaction at different levels, from the personal to the global.
Shielding her experience, Helga brings a rigorously calibrated reconstruction of the senses into her working practice. Shimmering thoughts flicker and disintegrate on the canvas, whether digital or fabric. Her work is filled with dense shapes which exhibit some asynchrony and dissolution.
She retransmits the peripheral and borderline states through various materials, including digital tools, acrylic, and collage. She pays particular attention to textures and lines. This is how her visual pieces fill in unspoken gaps. The pulsating fragmented aspects of her work create a way through abstraction to matter.
